Privacy Policy

What we collect (very little), what we don't (almost everything), and how third-party services on this site work.

1. Summary

SellerCalcs ("we", "us", "the site") provides browser-based calculators and AI tools. We deliberately operate as a low-data operation. Specifically:

  • We do not require you to create an account.
  • We do not collect or store the numbers you enter into our calculators.
  • We do not store the text inputs you provide to our AI tools.
  • We do not have an email list and do not send marketing email.

What we do use: anonymous traffic analytics, error monitoring, and third-party advertising (Google AdSense). Each is described in detail below.

2. Information we collect automatically

When you visit any page on this site, our hosting provider and analytics services log standard server data:

  • IP address (truncated where possible to anonymise).
  • Browser type and version.
  • Operating system.
  • Referring URL (which page you came from).
  • Pages visited on our site and approximate timestamps.
  • Approximate location (city / region level, derived from IP).

This data is used to:

  • Understand which calculators are most useful and where to invest improvements.
  • Detect and prevent abuse (e.g. automated scraping, denial-of-service attempts).
  • Diagnose technical errors.

3. Information we do NOT collect

To be explicit:

  • Calculator inputs. Every calculation runs in JavaScript in your browser. The numbers you enter never reach our servers.
  • AI tool inputs. Our AI tools use deterministic templates running locally. The text you type stays on your device.
  • Email addresses. We have no signup flow. Even if you email us, we keep correspondence in the mailbox and do not import it into a CRM.
  • Payment information. Our tools are free; there is nothing to pay.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of first-party cookies for essential site functions:

  • Session cookies that expire when you close the browser.
  • Preference cookies (e.g. last-used calculator inputs, dark/light mode if applicable). These are stored in browser localStorage and never sent to a server.

Third-party services (Google AdSense, Google Analytics) set their own cookies as described below.

5. Third-party services

Google AdSense

This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. Note that we do not control what data Google collects through its ads; Google's own policies apply.

Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate visitor behaviour. IP anonymisation is enabled. Data is retained for the minimum period Google permits. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Affiliate links

Some pages may contain affiliate links to services we recommend (e.g. Shopify, freight forwarders, accounting software). If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These links are clearly contextual and never disguised. Clicking an affiliate link redirects through the merchant's tracking infrastructure, which sets its own cookies.

6. How we use the information we collect

The data described in Section 2 is used solely to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the site.
  • Monitor and analyse trends and usage.
  • Detect and address technical issues.
  • Protect against abuse, fraud, or unauthorised access.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

7. Data retention

  • Server logs: 90 days, then anonymised aggregate retained.
  • Analytics data (Google Analytics): up to 14 months.
  • Bug-report emails: until the bug is resolved, then archived for 12 months.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (notably GDPR for EU/UK, CCPA for California), you may have the right to:

  • Request access to any personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion.
  • Object to certain processing.
  • Request data portability.

Because we collect very little personal data, requests are usually simple to fulfil. Contact us at privacy@sellercalcs.com to exercise any of these rights.

9. Children's privacy

The site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

The site is hosted on infrastructure that may store data in multiple regions (typically the US and the EU, depending on the closest CDN edge to you). By using the site, you consent to the transfer of the small amount of automatically-collected data described in Section 2 to these locations.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the data we hold:

  • HTTPS everywhere.
  • No collection of sensitive financial data (we never see your numbers).
  • Regular updates to our hosting infrastructure.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting personal data, we will notify affected users in line with applicable law.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced on the homepage for at least 30 days. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
